At St. Francis School, we are blessed to have dedicated staff members who make a difference every day. This month, we are excited to highlight Shawn Wisniowski, our parish’s Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper, whose faith, dedication, and hard work help keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Shawn graduated from UW-Superior in 2009 with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. In 2020, her family moved to Ellsworth, drawn by the tight-knit community and the blessing of a Catholic school in a small town. St. Francis played a major role in their decision to settle here, and when the Administrative Assistant position opened, Shawn knew it was the perfect opportunity to utilize her professional skills while also giving her the flexibility needed to care for her growing family.
Her role is wide-ranging, including answering phones, managing the parish calendar, creating bulletins and email blasts, handling bank deposits and reconciliations, processing bill payments, ensuring safe environment compliance, and preparing for sacraments—just to name a few! Though her days are filled with tasks that keep the church and school running smoothly, she treasures the ability to work next door to her children and share her faith daily.
One of Shawn’s most memorable moments so far has been witnessing the church renovations. While the remodel brought extra work, seeing the beautiful transformation of the church made every effort worthwhile. She finds excitement in the positive changes happening at St. Francis and feels honored to be part of its growth.
Outside of work, Shawn enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, cheering on their sports teams, traveling, and making the most of Midwest summers. While personal hobbies sometimes take a backseat to family life, she wouldn’t have it any other way!
Above all, Shawn feels blessed to work at a place that aligns with her faith and values. “Being able to work where I pray gives me great satisfaction in knowing I’m helping create a positive impact in a way that aligns with my purpose and passion,” she shares.
We are grateful for Shawn’s hard work, faith, and dedication to St. Francis Church & School. If you see her in the office, be sure to say hello and thank her for all she does!
