Mrs. Liza Chatt joined St. Francis School in December 2007, answering an ad in the newspaper for a teacher’s assistant position. Since then, she has become an integral part of our school community, working as an interventionist and classroom assistant. From helping individual students or small groups with reading, phonics, and math to assisting in the cafeteria and serving meals, Mrs. Chatt is dedicated to making each day meaningful for the students at St. Francis School.
Mrs. Chatt is inspired by the enthusiasm and zest for life that St. Francis students display. She enjoys playing educational games with them, such as Fraction Formula, The Clumsy Thief, Phonics Bingo, and Sight Word Parking Lot, which make learning fun and interactive. Her involvement in the Building the Kingdom Program allows her to support the school’s mission while nurturing the growth of each child. She also enjoys attending school Mass on Wednesday mornings and listening to the students sings hymns and spiritual songs.
Every day brings memorable moments for Mrs. Chatt, from preschoolers stopping by her office to say “hi” on their way to recess to seeing a student’s happiness after overcoming a challenge. Outside of school, Mrs. Chatt enjoys gardening, scrap quilting, and trying new recipes. She loves spending time with her family, especially her grandson, who lives in Iowa and will turn three in February.
Mrs. Chatt’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:10, “Be still and know that I am God,” and her favorite hymn is “The Old Rugged Cross,” a song that holds a special place in her heart since her college days. She also finds comfort in the prayer “Hail Mary.”
We are grateful for Mrs. Chatt’s kindness, dedication, and expertise she brings to St. Francis School every day!
