Meet Mrs. Melanie Anderson, one of the dedicated and energetic Classroom Aides here at St. Francis School. With a background in Agricultural Engineering from UW-River Falls, Mrs. Anderson’s journey to St. Francis School was unexpected but serendipitous. It all began when her aunt, Shari Turvaville, mentioned an opening at the school in the summer of 2023. After a few encouraging phone calls from Mr. Mark Matzek, Melanie decided to explore the opportunity. The rest, as they say, is history. “There is truly something uniquely special about this school, and I am so grateful to Mrs. Turvaville and Mr. Matzek for bringing me on board,” she says.
Mrs. Anderson starts her mornings in the 4YK classroom and spends her afternoons working one-on-one with students, assisting with phonics and math. Her day also includes recess and lunch duties, and she finishes up with Eagle’s Nest, where she plans fun games and activities for the students. “I love everything about my job. Every day is unique, just like each of our students,” Melanie shares. One of her favorite moments is seeing that “Aha!” look in students’ eyes when concepts begin to click. “It’s such a pleasure helping such respectful students and getting to know each of these amazing kids.”
Mrs. Anderson finds inspiration not only from the students but also from her coworkers. “I find it inspiring working every day with coworkers who genuinely care and are passionate about the success of each student. They have been so welcoming; it is a pleasure to be part of this team.”
Outside of school, Mrs. Anderson loves spending time with her family, whether it’s working on their growing hobby farm, four-wheeling, or watching her kids play sports. “There’s no place I’d rather be,” she says.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Mrs. Melanie Anderson as part of the St. Francis School community, where her enthusiasm and passion for helping students shine every day!
