This month, we’re proud to feature Amy Loberg, our Director of Advancement, whose work happens largely behind the scenes but whose impact is felt across every corner of our school. Amy serves in a part-time capacity, but the impact of her work is anything but part-time. She oversees fundraising campaigns and events, coordinates alumni programming, and builds bridges between our school, parish, and greater Ellsworth community—all to ensure that St. Francis School remains strong and vibrant for generations to come.
Though Amy says she “stumbled” into the role, deep in her heart she knows that it was part of God’s plan. With a B.A. in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas, Amy’s professional background includes working in admissions at Macalester College and counseling at UW-Stout. It was during her time as a stay-at-home mom—volunteering right here at St. Francis School—that she discovered a deep passion for faith-based education. That passion grew into a calling.
“What I love most about my work at St. Francis School is that I get to see the very best in humanity every single day,” Amy shares. “From parents who make financial sacrifices for their children’s education, to teachers who see their work as a vocation, to donors who give generously even though many don’t have a connection to a current student—it’s awe-inspiring.”
Amy recalls powerful moments in her work where she’s felt God’s presence guiding her—times when the right resource, person, or opportunity arrived exactly when it was needed. “Those are the moments that give me goosebumps,” she says. “They remind me that God is truly at the helm of our school.”
Outside of work, Amy and her husband stay busy raising their four children—currently in kindergarten, third, fifth, and seventh grades. Most evenings and weekends, you’ll find her cheering from the bleachers at sports events or sitting proudly in an auditorium for music performances. As her children grow, Amy sees the lasting impact of the faith-filled foundation they’ve received at St. Francis School. “I’m certain it’s the best investment my husband and I will ever make.”
Amy’s dedication, joyful spirit, and unwavering faith make her an incredible blessing to our school. Thank you, Amy, for your tireless work in advancing our mission—you’re helping to shape not just a school, but a stronger, faith-filled future for every student who walks through our doors.
