November 1st marked the end of our first quarter at school. I can't believe it is completed! On Friday, October 25th the teachers and I attended a diocesan in-service in Chippewa Falls. We started the day with mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church and finished the rest of the day at McDonell Middle School. We began with a prayer that I would like to share:
"God created me to do him definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connections between persons."
I like this prayer because it can resonate with all of us in so many ways. I specifically like it for my staff and myself because we accepted the call to Catholic education. Our staff is doing God's work. All teachers (public and parochial) are important in the development of a child. A Catholic school teacher is even more so. They can be the reason a student holds onto their faith and finds their way to heaven. As Father Olson stated many times, our goal in life should be to enter paradise with Jesus Christ when our time on Earth ends. The staff at St. Francis School acknowledges this and work hard every day to spread the good news!
