We are excited to feature Reed Olson, son of Todd and Angie Olson, in this month’s alumni spotlight! After completing his education at St. Francis School in 2012 and graduating from Ellsworth High School in 2019, Reed went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Winona State University. During his time at WSU, Reed developed a strong connection to the Winona community, leading him to purchase a rental property, which he now calls home. This initial step into real estate ignited his passion for the industry, prompting him to become a real estate agent. In addition to his real estate career, Reed also works in electrical distribution at Xcel Energy.
Reed credits his personal and professional growth to the lessons he learned at St. Francis School. “St. Francis taught me the importance of helping people and giving back,” he says. Volunteering and community involvement are priorities in Reed’s life, and these values have opened doors for him, including opportunities at Xcel Energy and in his real estate career. “The school showed me the importance of being kind to everyone, as well as the importance of community,” he reflects.
The strong bonds formed at St. Francis School have also been a lasting gift. Reed remains close with several of his classmates, including Jack White, his roommate since freshman year of college, and Alex Matzek, who recently joined him on a trip to Southeast Asia. “St. Francis creates bonds that last a lifetime,” Reed adds.
When he’s not working or giving back to the community, Reed enjoys staying active with hobbies like rock climbing, snowboarding, and weightlifting. He’s a shining example of how the values instilled at St. Francis School continue to inspire our alumni to thrive and give back, wherever life may take them.
We are proud to celebrate Reed and look forward to seeing where his passions take him next!
