St. Francis School is proud to highlight Lindsey Augustine, a dedicated educator and leader whose journey exemplifies the values and lessons instilled during her time at St. Francis. Daughter of Andy and Wendy Augustine, Lindsey graduated from St. Francis School in 2012 and Ellsworth High School in 2019, charting a path that has inspired and empowered students across the country.
Lindsey pursued her passion for education at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, earning a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood in 2023. Her journey was marked by exceptional leadership, including serving as the Wisconsin State FFA Vice President in 2019-2020. In this role, Lindsey traveled throughout Wisconsin, facilitating conferences to promote agriculture and the opportunities within the FFA organization. Her commitment to service extended nationally when she began working for the National FFA Organization. Lindsey facilitated conferences in Washington, D.C., where students developed Living to Serve Plans—community service projects designed to create meaningful change in their local areas.
Lindsey’s passion for teaching and cultural exchange led her overseas to Yerevan, Armenia, for her student teaching experience. Teaching students from 1st through 12th grade, she gained invaluable insights into Armenian history and culture, further enriching her approach to education. Upon returning to Ellsworth, Lindsey assumed the role of Assistant FFA Advisor at Ellsworth High School while continuing her work with the National FFA Organization, organizing and leading leadership conferences across the country.
Lindsey’s time at St. Francis School deeply influenced her personal and professional development. She credits her incredible role models at St. Francis for inspiring her to pursue a career in teaching. The values of honesty, integrity, and faith in people, which were foundational to her education, continue to guide her work.
At St. Francis School, Lindsey learned the importance of respect, responsibility, compassion, service to others, and a strong sense of community. These lessons have stayed with her throughout her life, shaping her character and professional approach.
Some of Lindsey’s favorite memories of St. Francis School involve the strong family connections she shared during her time here. She attended school with her twin sister and cousin, creating a unique bond within the classroom. Lindsey fondly recalls her grandmother, Mary, who volunteered on Wednesdays. After school, Mary would pick them up, and if the weather was nice, they’d enjoy a joyful ride home in Mary’s blue convertible with the top down.
Lindsey’s story is a testament to the enduring impact of a St. Francis School education. Through her dedication to education, leadership, and service, she embodies the core values that make our school community proud. We celebrate Lindsey’s accomplishments and are honored to call her one of our own!
