Embracing the festive spirit within our Catholic School during the Christmas season is truly a special experience. On December 6th, our students joyfully celebrated St. Nicholas Day by placing paper shoes outside their classrooms. In a delightful surprise, St. Nicholas visited during the night, leaving behind oranges, candy canes, and chocolate coins in the shoes. The holiday cheer continued with our recently concluded annual Christmas Program, a spectacular showcase of talent directed by our dedicated music teacher, Ms. Melody Perrin. The students, who devoted weeks to preparation, delivered an outstanding performance that captivated the audience.
Expressing gratitude to the numerous individuals who contributed to the success of the Christmas Program, we hesitate to list them all, as their collective efforts were truly commendable. Heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for making this event a resounding success!
In broader school updates, we are pleased to share that St. Francis School is thriving. Our enrollment has grown by five students since the beginning of the academic year, reflecting the community's recognition of the valuable Christ-centered education we provide. Our teachers and staff continue to excel in their classrooms, exemplified by innovative initiatives such as the 5th-grade students raising brown trout under the guidance of Ms. Hanley. This enriching opportunity, made possible by The Ellsworth School Foundation and Trout in the Classroom, was introduced to us through the efforts of Mr. Barry Cain. Gratitude is extended to both Mr. Cain and The Ellsworth School Foundation for supporting this exceptional learning experience. The culmination of this endeavor will be the release of the brown trout into the Trimbelle River in May 2024, creating a lasting impact on our students' education.
From my family to yours, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
